What I like about these two cases is that they highlight how one fundamental problem in both mouths (crowding) was treated in two different approaches to achieve the same end goal; a beautiful smile for each patient.
In the first case we see porcelain veneers used to mask the discrepancies in size, shape and colour of the teeth. The result is stunning and was achieved relatively quickly, the whole case taking less than a month from start to finish! The work was done by Russell Blanchard and his ever present nurse Phillipa, both of whom are now massively experienced at this kind of work.

In this second case the patient elected to have orthodontic work to reposition her teeth, followed by whitening to enhance their appearance. The orthodontics was done using the Invisalign technique (no fixed braces are used, just removable trays) and the treatment was carried out by Dr Tim Bamford in Tunbridge Wells. The whitening was completed by Dr Ian Kerr here at StoneRock. The patient was delighted with her results and has avoided any drilling to her teeth so they have remained untouched through out. Once the permanent retainers are fitted to the backs of the teeth the new smile will be held in position for life. The case took 20 months to complete but has transformed the smile completely.

It has been a while since I have updated the blog and apologies for that. Everyone at StoneRock has been phenomenally busy for the past few months with training courses in Geneva, lecturing here in the UK, doubling our professional team and expanding into our fourth surgery. We now have specialist in restorative care (crowns, bridges, implants), periodontal care (gum surgery), oral surgery (difficult tooth extractions) and a qualified implantologist. You can find out more about every member of our team by clicking on the link below.

Anyway, enough excuses, on with the slide show! The photos below are examples of smile enhancements done using direct “add on” procedures known as “bio-aesthetic” work or with indirect ceramic work. Bio-aesthetics uses the natural layering technique to build teeth up using direct white filling materials. The main advantage of this work is that involves little or no drilling, typically no anaesthetics and can be completed in 1 visit. Ceramic work gives a greater control of the smile enhancement and allows the dentist to completely alter colour, size, shape and position of the teeth.
Bio-aesthetics used to improve the appearance of very worn front teeth

Bio- aesthetics used to rebuild missing tooth and repair fracture line.
The missing tooth was rebuilt in the mouth using a combination of composite filling material and modern fibre reinforcement systems that we use at StoneRock. There was no drilling to sound tooth tissue in this case.

Ceramic work was used to great affect in this case to transform a smile.
Only 4 teeth were treated but the whole smile is enhanced

Ceramic work was used to alter and entire smile to wonderful affect

At StoneRock we pride ourselves in the work we produce. We aim to provide our patients with every treatment choice available so they can make the decision that it right for them.
