The photos below show further evidence (as if any were needed) of Russell Blanchard’s incredible skill at making beautiful smiles.
Both cases were done using minimal preparation techniques to reduce the amount of drilling to natural sound tooth tissue. In the first case a missing tooth was replaced with a porcelain veneer bridge, with veneers on adjacent teeth to harmonise the result.
In the second case old, poorly matched crowns and large stained fillings were replaced with a combination of crowns and veneers. We hear a lot of talk about “Hollywood smiles” and teeth being “too white”. We are very conscious of that at StoneRock and strive to provide much more natural results. We realise that lots of people do not want to have unnaturally white teeth. That said not many of us are keen to have gaps in the front of our smiles or crowns that do not match any of our teeth either!

If you would like to find out how Russell can help you with your smile then please do not hesitate to call the practice on 01580 752202 and we will be happy to help.

This case highlights how new techniques involving fibre re-enforced composites can change how we approach our restorative cases.
Traditionally the tooth below, with a large failing amalgam filling and fracture down the back wall would need some form of crown or overlay to protect it (you can learn more about these terms on our FAQ page on crowns and bridges ). As you can see from the second photo the cavity is substantial and a routine white filling would offer only limited long term stability.
Using a combination of high quality composite filling material and a sub-layer of a fibre mesh we are able to produce a great blend of strength and aesthetics which will be able to delay more complex work by up to ten years. This fibre re-enforced filling cost over £200 less than a crown, was completed in one visit and required no drilling of the surrounding sound tooth tissue.
