Some of you may have been interested to hear that a Dr Iain Kerr has been struck off the medical register. Just to avoid any possible confusion let me assure you that this has nothing to do with Dr Ian Kerr BDS, of StoneRock Dental Care.
Dr Iain (note different spelling) Kerr is a 61 year old medical general practioner who has a practice in Glasgow and has no connection with StoneRock Dental Care, Hawkhurst, Kent. The full story can be read up in The Daily Record.

The two cases below highlight the beauty and simplicity of minimally invasive, bio-aesthetic techniques that can be used to dramatically enhance a smile. Both cases required no drilling, no local anaesthetic and were completed in one visit each. Dr Blanchard (who treated both cases) and Dr Kerr are both using this technique more and more as it offers great benefits to patients. These benefits, when compared to conventional aesthetic work using veneers are as follows -
- It is quicker – usually requiring only one visit to complete (Full smile design work with veneers takes 3-4 visits on average)
- It is painless – no drilling to the teeth so no need for any injections
- It is significantly cheaper, usually costing less than a quarter of the cost of an equivalent case completed with veneers
- It is reversible – no damage is done to the underlying teeth so the case can just be removed for what ever reason in the future
This does not mean we will never use veneers again however as these undoubtedly gives us the very highest aesthetics and would always be expected to last longer than the bio-aesthetic cases
